History of Incidents

Since the start of the extensive conflict in Ukraine, a string of Russian military personnel have been subjected to assaults within Moscow.

This latest event follows other notable incidents, including:

  • General Yaroslav Moskalik was killed in a vehicle explosion in Moscow earlier this year.
  • General Igor Kirillov was killed in late 2024 when a explosive placed on a scooter was triggered from afar.

While a Ukrainian source earlier linked Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such allegations are rarely publicly admitted as a matter of official stance.

Hostilities has increasingly seen shadowy operations moving into the streets of the Russian capital.

The probe into General Sarvarov's death continues to be ongoing.
