Law Enforcement End Hunt for Four-Year-Old Disappeared in Australian Outback
Australian police have suspended the search for a four-year-old who has been disappeared in the remote area for approximately several weeks, after renewed attempts were unable to find any signs of the boy.
Chronology of Events
Gus Lamont was observed playing around his home on a secluded sheep station close to Yunta, about 300km from Adelaide, on 27 September.
His family member briefly departed for about half an hour before checking on him, only to realize the child gone, triggering one of the most extensive comprehensive searches in the region's past.

Authorities - who do not think there was foul play - say they will continue investigating, but that the situation has become a "recovery operation".
Last week, officials temporarily reduced the hunt, only to recommence it on recently alongside 80 military members.
"Official Grant Stevens said authorities were scanning a wider region based on new assessments from survivability and operation experts, rather than any new information."

On the end of last week, officials announced that the latest search had not discovered any traces of the boy.

"This represents a surprise to our family and acquaintances, and we are struggling to comprehend what has occurred," a family representative said.
"Their son's disappearance is noticed in all of us, and we yearn for him exceeding words can describe."
