Discover 29 Fresh Game Cards from Magic: The Gathering's TMNT Set (Including a Commander Deck!)

The world's favorite pizza-loving heroes are making their way to Magic: The Gathering. The well-known TCG's publisher, Wizards of the Coast, revealed a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration during a special panel held at New York Comic Con. Could this be a radical new set or simply another crossover marketing move? We'll let you be the judge.

Check out here at all the details announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, including some useful context. Everything listed below launches on March 6, 2026, except for one item — a special Pizza Bundle drops a few weeks later on March 27.

MTG x TMNT: Main Set Cards

Before diving into the many unique products and bundles available, let’s take a look at all the cards from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion that were revealed by Wizards. Play boosters for the set are set at $6.99 each, while premium boosters should run $37.99 per pack.

Let’s explore a few surprising details. To begin, there's a new mechanic named Sneak Attack, which is a riff on the already established Ninjutsu, where players can cheat big creatures into the battlefield whenever an attacking creature goes unblocked. The key change in this case is that Sneak can apply to spells that aren’t creatures as well. Wizards also used this chance to clean up the ability a bit (Sneak is treated as casting, as opposed to the older mechanic). The original ability isn't going away, but it's more likely we'll see the new mechanic in future sets moving forward.

“If we ever were to return to the Kamigawa plane, it’s possible we’d use Ninjutsu because that's where it was developed and it’s a hallmark of that world,” an experienced game designer stated. “But in other settings, because the mechanics are smoother and the new ability will be in standard, it's more likely we’ll use Sneak.”

That second variant of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai, is one of four special cards with special art created specifically for the expansion by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator the co-creator.

Oh, and, if you're shocked by the card text on Turtles Forever card, which lets you play game cards outside of your main deck, so was I. But as per Wizards, that's now a official card in every format of Magic.

Anyway, below are the extremely bizarre full-art lands from this set:

Following the company’s existing guidelines, these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard format. The designers state they took care to make sure the cards and mechanics meshed well with current Standard expansions such as Edge of Eternities.

“I headed the development for 15 months and we were aware it was going to be Standard-legal and which sets would be alongside it in Standard,” a lead designer commented. “We designed to make sure that they work well with some of those sets like Edge of Eternities.”

As an instance, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a blue-red strategy built around artifacts.

“They combine to offer the pieces for a enjoyable Standard-legal deck,” he says.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power

After declining to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for Spider-Man and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, Wizards is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just a single precon, but it includes six different legendary creatures who could work as your commander depending on how you combine them (five cards have a special Partner mechanic called “Character Select” that lets you start with two of them in the command area rather than just one). Check them out for yourself:

This Commander deck is set at $69.99, though that could easily go up due to demand. Wizards indicated that it contains 43 brand-new cards in total, which translates to an additional thirty-seven Turtle-themed cards besides the six legendary creatures pictured above. (Calculating roughly, this suggests about 20 reprints if we assume the precon comes with 37 lands.)

What will the Turtles version of the iconic Sol Ring look like? Fans must wait and see.

TMNT Bundle (Standard Edition)

Typically, Wizards is offering a collection. This one costs $69.99 and contains the following:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • 15 Traditional foil basic lands
  • 15 Regular land cards
  • Two Reference cards
  • 1 Traditional foil promo card
  • One Large life tracker
  • One Card-storage box

Pizza Bundle

Here’s a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, mostly in that it is packaged in what looks like a pizza box. Every pizza-themed bundle is priced at $99.99 and includes the items below:

  • 9 Play Boosters
  • 1 Collector Booster
  • Twenty-five Non-foil pizza-themed lands
  • 5 Traditional foil pizza basic lands
  • 2 Traditional foil pizza bundle promo cards
  • Two helper cards
  • One Oversized life tracker
  • One Card-storage box

If you’re wondering about the “Pizza Bundle promo card” means, it’s essentially a reprint of an older card with brand-new TMNT art. The team showed an example for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of master Splinter adding black licorice pieces onto a pizza. In total, there are six different Pizza Bundle promo cards available.

The Pizza Bundle launches a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Night

This unique product is made for a four-person draft and is priced at $119.99. It includes:

  • Twelve Standard Boosters (the perfect amount a group of four to play draft)
  • 1 Collector Booster (also known as, the reward for coming in first)
  • 90 Regular land cards (for building your deck)
  • 10 Regular double-sided tokens
  • One Draft insert (a single-page guide to drafting this expansion)

Turtle Team-Up

Finally, Wizards are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its ongoing effort to create Magic game products specifically for new players. In this case, the cooperative set is a special set of decks that allow two players team up against a “Boss” deck that pilots itself.

The concept here that each Boss card grants special abilities to the creature cards included in the boss deck. The Boss automatically plays one other card per turn, and players begin fighting {one Boss|
